Anti-virus Software is no longer good enough

Anti-virus software alone was once adequate in removing potential viruses, trojans, malware, adware, spyware, and worms. But unfortunately with-in the last 5 years is have been even difficult for the anti-virus software developers to keep up to date with all the new harmful elements on the internet.  With nearly 500 new viruses per month, not including spyware or adware and numerous Windows Vulnerabilities found each month it is no wonder the anti-virus developers can not keep up.

Fortunately there are several simple things that can be done to eliminate 99% of these threats on your computer by using a multiple solution approach.

1. Have antivirus software Install

2. Have antivirus software automatically updating and active subscription

3. Have Windows automatically update and periodically confirm there a not any updates that need to be installed

4. Have Adware / Spyware software installed

5. Always connect to the internet from behind a router or firewall (never directly to modem)

We are not going to preach to you on safe practices on the internet, I am sure you have heard them before. We don't need to, with our 5 step approach you should be able to accidentally open a virus and not be effected by its payload. Although it is not advised to open viruses, if your computer is adequately protected the problem should be detected before any damage is done.

In our Virus Recovery Services we will remove any virus found on your computer for a flat rate of $95.00 regardless to the amount of time the technician spends . Unfortunately there are a few circumstances that may prevent us from returning your computer to a virus free or correctly running state, due to unrecoverable damage caused by particular viruses or trojans. We will make ever effort early in the support session to determine if your computer is one of these types of scenarios.

Once the type of virus has been identified we may recommend that we conclude the the Virus Recovery Service at a prorated rate if virus removal is not possible or if data damage is more severe  that normal computer operation is not possible.  Although rare there are some viruses that the only way to recover from is by reloading Windows from scratch in which case the Per Incident Support would be the recommended course of action.
